For undergraduates or full-time postgraduates with an interest in microbiology:
Student Membership Application

Associate membership is granted to any person who has an interest in the field of microbiology
Associate Membership Application

For associate members who have completed the requirements of an academic qualification in microbiology at diploma level or alternative qualifications acceptable to National Council and have satisfactorily completed at least five years appropriate full-time employment, or its equivalent, after completion of their academic qualification, as a practising microbiologist.
Senior Associate Membership

For those who have completed the requirements of an academic qualification in microbiology at bachelors degree or postgraduate level acceptable to National Council of the Society, and have satisfactorily completed two years of postgraduate full time employment or its equivalent as a practising microbiologist.
Professional Membership (MASM)


For those Members that have ceased full time work and wish to continue being up to date with the latest information. Retired Membership

For universities, institutions and schools to join the Society through a Library subscription which would gives libraries access to the Society's Journal, 'Microbiology Australia'
Library Membership

Fellowship is the higher qualification of the ASM which is granted by the Council on the recommendation of the National Examinations Board.
